Dr. Manzione did her Internal Medicine internship from 1978 to 1979, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine from 1979 to 1981, and then completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology in 1984. During her fellowship she did bench and clinical research in several areas of gastrointestinal health, published her work in many reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. After completion of fellowship, she was the director of the GI fellowship at Jacobi hospital from 1984 to 1986.  In 1986 she established the full-time faculty practice in Gastroenterology at Montefiore’s Weiler Campus, which has grown to include many practicing faculty members with varying degrees of expertise.  Currently, Dr. Manzione’s focus is on training fellows in Gastroenterology and she has a large clinical practice in all aspects of gastrointestinal disease with a particular interest in colorectal cancer screening. Dr. Manzione is a member of several professional societies, including the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the New York Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
